from our last conference.
Founder and Director of the Thorp Institute™,
The Thorp Institute of Integrative Medicine
offers the healthcare community a non-drug, noninvasive
therapy, that is FDA registered, insurance billable,
and has a high success rate in the reduction of chronic
pain. The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse micro-current
therapy creates a new profit stream into any health
practice whether it be Orthopedics, Neurology, Chiropractic,
Physical therapy Chinese Medicine, Podiatry, Dental
and even in the Veterinarian and Beauty Care field.
Early on in life, the future President and Founder
of the Thorp Institute of Integrated Medicine, John
Thorp, never showed any interest in a medical career.
A tragic accident that changed his life and his career
was the catalyst for Thorp's creating the Thorp Institute,
which uses twenty-first century, FDA-approved, Class-II
medical devices that are based on missile guidance
chip technology. These instruments help the body heal
itself better, stronger, and faster than traditional
medicine.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Thorp was enjoying
a successful career as a stuntman working on several
hit television shows, including Hawaii Five-O, Magnum
P.I., Jake and the Fatman and many other well-known
television programs and movies. All of this stopped
abruptly in 1986 when Thorp shattered his leg in Hawaii.
Thorp's
doctors reported, "His tibia plateau was shattered
into over fifty pieces, like an egg shell. The team
glued him back together using three pins, two plates
and twelve screws. Even with their expert carpentry,
the prognosis was still grim. "He will never
be able to bend the knee. We have only one hope: a
complete knee replacement. Without it, he will walk
with a severe limp or will have to use a cane for
the rest of his life." Having a complete knee
replacement would make him a liability in the motion
picture stunt business, ending his career forever.
Having
a complete knee replacement would make him a liability
in the motion picture stunt business, ending his career
forever. That calling was not only inseparable from
who he was as a person, but was also now on the brink
of extinction because of one bad landing, and a money-based
western medical doctor’s prognosis of John needing
a total knee replacement. But a new kind of help was
making its way to John — from a friend.
Lee
Majors, one of John’s friends, recommended a
new therapy that was showing dramatic results with
professional athletes. This therapy used the Electro
Acuscope and Myopulse instruments, and was widely
utilized in the Sports Medicine Clinic Lee had been
going to. John quickly took Lee’s advice. After
his treatments, the results for John’s body
were remarkable.
John
returned to the world he loved as a stuntman. Amazingly,
only one year from the date of the injury he ran his
first triathlon with a leg doctors said would never
bend again. Now, Twenty years and twenty-eight triathlons
later, there is no sign of arthritis in his knee joint.
He not only proved the doctor’s prognosis wrong,
he healed himself with the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse
instruments.
Though
some people called it a miracle, it was the Electro
Acuscope and Myopulse instruments and John’s
own determination to heal, that helped in his rehabilitation.
The body’s own healing process helped John’s
body essentially “restructure” the knee
joint with no surgery and no drugs, so it was just
as useable as his other leg. Many people thought John
hadn’t actually experienced the results he claimed.
Some even believed he had received a miracle. But
John knew better.
During
his recovery time, John also began using the instruments
on horses to test and prove the effectiveness of the
instruments. John knew that horses could not ‘fake’
injuries or wellness. Much to the surprise of everyone
(but John), the horses showed the same type of recovery
John had.
People
started talking about the “miracle recoveries”
that were going on in horse stalls. The stories of
John’s successes with horses became almost mythic
in proportion. It also wasn’t uncommon to find
not only horses but their riders as well walk into
the horse stall in serious pain and then walk out
pain-free after treatments with the Acuscope and Myopulse
instruments.
Word
of mouth was John’s only advertisement, and
it wasn’t long before a friend wanted to open
a wellness center, In Big Bear, California and have
John bring his machines and work with a local Chiropractor
he had retained. Human and equine recoveries continued,
and ignited a passion in John to share this technology
with the world.
John’s
injuries opened doors to a world he never expected.
Over the last 20 years he has lectured to medical
doctors, chiropractors, and other health care practitioners
about his own healing success and how he has helped
thousands of others. His Twenty years plus, of consistent
positive results attracted the attention of local,
national, and international media. It also attracted
the attention and endorsements of some of the top
medical facilities in the world, such as Cedar Sinai,
Castle Medical Center, Maui Memorial Hospital, UCLA
and Westmont College,
Terry
Bradshaw who used them to rehabilitate his
damaged throwing arm, which helped him win the 1983
Super bowl, thrust the Acuscope and Myopulse into
the limelight. Since that time, the Acuscope and Myopulse
have been responsible for speeding up the recovery
time of such elite athletes like Jonie Benoit, Jack
Nicholas, Hale Erwin, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretsky,
Mary Decker, and Michael Jordan. Even Pope John Paul
had several at the Vatican.
What Professionals Are Saying About John Thorp, The
Thorp Institute, and The Acuscope and Myopulse Instruments:
“When
John treated me, I was shocked at how quickly it worked
and how profound it was. I feel blessed that John
and this technology exist!”
Jack

the Chicken Soup for the Soul series
“It
was a wonderful learning experience to have participated
in your recent training seminar at the Thorp Institute
of Integrated Medicine. The academic approaches you
utilized in teaching the proper procedures and benefits
of the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse were excellent.
“I
suffer from an anterior cruciate ligament tear, which
is exacerbated by my childhood affliction from poliomyelitis.
Under your guidance, the pain from the injury has
diminished and the impossible has begun — the
healing of the ligamental tear.
“It
is noteworthy that the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse
are the only medical devices that have ever received
an Apostolic Blessing from the Vatican and they are
approved by the FDA for pain management.
“It
is my Hypothesis that the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse
when properly administered can provide much more than
pain management, but healing for muscular, cellular,
bacterial or even viral infirmities.”
- Dr. Alex Daoud MD.
“Ten
years ago, I had hips that needed to be replaced,
I went to John and he regenerated them, so I’ve
been ambulatory for a decade. I trust this guy implicitly.”
Mark Victor Hansen - Co-creator of the Chicken Soup
for the Soul series and best selling co-author of

In 1987, John attended the institute of Oriental Medicine,
in Honolulu, John felt that by getting a solid education
in the placement of acupuncture points, channels,
and meridians, it would amplify his results by using
precise placement of probes and plates using the electro
Acuscope and Myopulse.
John
found a little known statute, under the Hawaii Massage
Therapy licensing Board, which permitted the use of
electrical stimulation devices by massage therapists.
He had two more years to go to get his doctorate of
Chinese medicine so he opted to get the massage license,
which would only take a year. He became a licensed
massage therapist in the state of Hawaii, in 1988
and began seeing patients in Dr. Barry Nutter’s
office in Kahala Hawaii.
Hawaii’s
worker’s compensation board allowed massage
therapists to be considered licensed health care providers,
and were permitted to use the Electro Acuscope and
Myopulse. The state of Hawaii was willing to reimburse
massage therapists for using the Acuscope and Myopulse
in many of the treatments.
John was introduced to Dr. John Monge the Vice president
of Castle Medical center in Hawaii, a division of
Loma Linda, who had heard of some of John’s
work. He had a problem with his Hamstring and was
a Marathon runner that was having a hard time running.
He asked John to come and demonstrate the Electro
Acuscope and Myopulse at the Work Well Rehabilitation
Center in Kaneohe Hawaii. Dr. Monge said you could
demonstrate it on me. If it works on me we will give
it a try at our Physical therapy center in Kaneohe.
Dr.
Monge was very impressed. He made an offer John could
not refuse and John was soon treating 8 patients a
day with the same incredible results. Dr. Monge asked
John to oversee the Work-well Rehabilitation Program
and their chronic pain patients.
In
the summer of 1992 John Thorps work was featured in
the Health Scene, A Loma Linda newspaper, feature
article entitled, “Stuntman Thorp Shares technology
that saved his life.” And “Acuscope/Myopulse
therapy helps the body heal itself.”
Castle
Medical Center purchased three more outpatients physical
therapy centers on Maui. John had trained and would
now supervise the technicians, to guarantee the same
results he had obtained using the Acuscope and Myopulse
in five outpatient physical therapy centers: three
on Maui and two in Honolulu.
When
new technology is developed, and does not fit into
the time frame of standard western medicine a technician
is needed. The Profession of Radiology was created
to handle the skills needed to operate an X-ray machine.
If you wanted to get consistent results, using the
electro Acuscope and Myopulse a well-trained technician
was needed. John had witnessed thousands of recoveries
using the Acuscope and Myopulse but the instruments
were only as good as the practitioner using them.
There
were at least three technicians in each center who
John personally trained. John surrounded himself with
physicians, podiatrists, and chiropractors, taking
information from each of these medical practices and
applying it to his specific use of these instruments.
Overseeing Hundreds of patients per week and thousands
of documented results fined tuned his Thorp Protocols
as he continued to look for the flaw in this incredible
technology.
With
the results documented he knew he had found a new
walk of technician medicine substantiated by a major
medical center with measurable results. His over whelming
success with the reduction of chronic pain associated
with disease and injury could not be denied. He had
clinically proven that these instruments, the electro
Acuscope and Myopulse would definitely be a part of
the Medicine of the Twenty First Century.
Through
all of this, John never stopped doing his stunt work.
His old buddy Lee Majors was back in town with a new
series on CBS, “Raven”. Lee’s co-star
was an Actor by the name of, Jeff Meek. Jeff had witnessed
his own father’s recovery from Shingles by using
John’s protocols using the Acuscope and Myopulse.
When the series ended and Jeff returned to his Home
in Los Angeles he could not shake what he had witnessed
in Hawaii.
John
decided it was time to open his own center. John opened
the Balance Body Center, in Kahala Hawaii, in April
of 1994 and began training massage therapists, to
be the technicians to operate these incredible instruments.
The combination of Physical Therapy and a physical
therapist overseeing the Acuscope and Myopulse technician
proved to be the ultimate combination. He incorporated
both at The Balance Body Center and was featured on
all three major News affiliates ABC, NBC, and CBS
in the state of Hawaii. John’s Center was a
success and with success comes expansion.
Jeff Meek had decided that he had to get involved
and quickly notified John that he had found a location
at the Westwood medical center in West Los Angeles
and after several calls convinced John that he needed
to Expand and get this technology to the real world
of Medicine and felt that John could make a huge impact
on how pain and injury was being treated.
John
and Jeff opened the Thorp Institute of Alternative
Medicine at the Westwood medical Center in the summer
of 1995. The clinic was an immediate success. The
Thorp Institute was contacted by UPN and the show
“Strange Universe” to do a featured piece
on Thorp’s use of the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse.
It seemed to be a good idea at the time Thorp Said
but he soon realized there was a big difference in
being featured on local news channels in Hawaii in
comparison to national coverage by a national and
international station.
The
response was overwhelming. Calls came in from all
over the country and Thorp quickly realized that a
lot of people were given hope by seeing the show.
Unfortunately the majority of these people were from
other states and even other countries and could not
afford to get on a plane and come to Thorps clinic.
Thorp did not have a network of trained technicians
across the country and he could not guarantee the
same results that he and his team were getting that
generated all the news media coverage. He did not
want one person to have a negative experience with
these instruments.
After returning several calls and hearing the despair
in their voices when he told them he had no one trained
in their area, and knowing that there were thousands
of micro-current instruments out there in clinics
that were untrained, he decided Thousands of negative
experiences could ruin all his hard work of proving
the effectiveness of the electro Acuscope and Myopulse
instruments using his proven clinical protocols.
National
television shows have asked if they could do a feature
story regarding Thorps personal experience, as well
as the thousands of other success stories that have
come from the use of the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse
instruments and He has turned them all down.
He
felt that until he had a referral network capable
of handling the demand for this type of treatment,
it is not appropriate to announce the instrument’s
effectiveness, simply because there are currently
not enough trained technicians to handle the case
load. There are many micro-current black boxes out
there with various results. Anyone with one could
say it is the same as what we are doing says Thorp
and they just are not!
“Once
we have trained hundreds of clinics and technicians
coast to coast to properly use the Acuscope and Myopulse
the same way I do, we’ll begin the media blitz,”
says John.
John
Closed the Doors of Thorp Institute of Alternative
Medicine in the fall of 1997 and moved to Ojai California
to begin writing, as well as filming all of his clinical
protocols to share with the world. He recently has
completed his Auto biography, and is in the final
editing stages, entitled “Nine Lives”
John
Thorp now trains doctors in every walk of medicine,
from veterinarians to neurosurgeons. He has trained
virtually every type of doctor in the proper use of
the same technology that saved his Stunt Career and
offered a new career in health care to thousands of
others. He has been called the “Doctors’
Doctor.” Although, when people call him this,
he always states that he is in fact not a doctor,
but a stuntman with a vision for health and healing.
He recently was married to Lisa Egizii and they plan
to finish his goal of delivering a painless drug free
therapy that will change the face of medicine in clinics
across the country. They currently live in Long Beach
California and hope to return to the islands as soon
as the vision is completed.
The
Thorp Institute of Integrated medicine is the Corporation
that will help deliver his message and has just been
formed and is ready to share with the world the new
paradigm shift from sickness to wellness in the Twenty
First century and BEYOND. A future without pain and
without fear. It’s here. Now.”
